Comments: When I heard there was a new GM (transferring in from the W Paris), I cancelled my reservation for this stay at the Park Hyatt and booked the W. Olivier is really whipping things into shape here. This was my 15th stay at the W in the last 12 months, but my first stay back here over the last four trips to DC as I swapped my loyalty to the Park Hyatt. (Due to what I considered to be some significant cleanliness/service issues that had become chronic.)

Comments: I had to inquire at check-in about an upgrade as one was not offered (my 12th stay here since April). This hotel consistently tries to avoid upgrading unless asked. Lack of overall attention to detail at this hotel makes me wonder if we’ll see this W rebrand before too long.

Comments: I had not stayed here before, so I can speak to how nice the two rooms are in comparison. But I will say the Fabulous room was really nice, small, but nice.
